Living Legacy Community Memorial

CONCEPT:
Our belief is to honor our community family by posting the pictures and biographies of those killed by violent crimes on our website. The loved ones of the deceased will have a place for poems and dedications and be a part in making a lasting memorial in his or her honor. Our organization will also help needy families by paying a portion of the funeral costs. Our aim is to bring healing to the affected families and communities, and attention to the devastating results of homicide in our neighborhoods. We plan to provide affected families with many resources and we will seek to highlight those individuals who serve as role models in the lives of people in our community.

RESOURCES/SERVICES:
. Grief counseling to help loved ones affected by the trauma to positively cope with their pain
. Educational outreach to teach the community how to solve disputes through conflict resolution
. Support groups to give grieving loved ones a chance to interact with others who share a similar loss
. Entrepreneurial training for students to educate them how to create wealth and build a brighter future and community

Goal:
Our goal is to work closely with the various foundations and community organizations to work as strategic partners to assist in the healing of families impacted by violence. Our organization seeks partnerships with school districts , the arts community and after-school programs to teach students how to use the creative and performing arts, sports programs and academic enrichment opportunities as an alternative to violence. We will create alliances with local clergy committees and law enforcement agencies in our area to take referrals for needy families and loved ones who may benefit from our services
